** Artist's note: This series of works deals with exposure and concealment, a hint that is expressed in the details and the empty space created, allowing the viewer to complete the work in his/her own way. The embroidery and print that exist in the works is an interpretation of writing and a desire to engage with the meaning that comes from its existence.
Ayala Tzur is a dynamic ceramic artist. She studied ceramics at Tel Hai College of the Arts in the Upper Galilee of northern Israel. She later studied Experimental Design at the prestigious Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. Using her foundation in this ancient craft, Tzur pursues in depth probes into different techniques, processes and materials. She is influenced by the movement and softness of textiles, a perfect juxtaposition to clay. Ayala is inspired by archeology, ancient scrolls, writing and calligraphy. The result is a unique and personal blend of rare aesthetic beauty.
