Alice Duerr-Mburu founded Tobmarc in 2019. Born and raised in Kenya, Alice grew up in a small village where both men and women passionately made and traded traditional, handcrafted wares. In her early 20’s, Alice immigrated to Canada, studied International Development, and focused her attention on empowering African artisans. Alice’s beautiful designs are deeply connected to her Kenyan heritage, and specifically the people, landscape and culture that informed her young life. Ethically sourced materials are woven by local Kenyan artisans, who are carefully selected and masters at their craft. The result speaks for itself!
